China to be honored guest at 35th Festival Cervantino in Guanajuato
Planeta.com’s 2009 Colibri
Ecotourism Award goes to Oaxaca
On
June 5th, World Environment Day, Planeta.com joined the global celebrations by
presenting the 9th Annual Colibri Ecotourism Award to
Pedro Martinez, a citizen of Oaxaca City, who has contributed to responsible
travel and ecotourism, running a bicycle tour business and showing
Oaxaca’s wonders to visitors for the past 20 years.
The
Colibri Ecotourism Award is given to those who like Martinez, work in Mexico and promote the country with
unique, innovative and eco-friendly initiatives. Today Martinez’s bicycle touring business is
a must for visitors who want to have a first-hand experience with the natural
landscapes, the culture and the traditions that this state has to offer.
Oaxaca has something for everybody to
experience and Martinez
is proud to show all that to its visitors. In the north it has cold,
well-forested highlands like Sierra Norte, a place to get in touch with nature.
In its central valleys you can find unique Mexican handicrafts, music and
cultural events. And in its spectacular coast on the Pacific
Ocean you can indulge in some of the most beautiful beaches.
