China to be honored guest at 35th Festival Cervantino in Guanajuato

Internationally
renowned director and painter Peter Greenaway will be honored at this year's Expresion en Corto
International Film Festival in the state of Guanajuato, which will take place
from July 24th to August 2nd. Greenaway, best know for his film 8 1/2 Women,
has produced a wealth of short and feature-length films, paintings, novels and
other books and has received numerous awards at the Cannes Film Festival.
Currently on its XII Edition, the festival attracts international and national
film buffs, and has previously honored Director Tim Burton. Greenway will be
presented with his award on July 30th in Guanajuato's State Auditorium and will
offer a Master class the following day where he will also show TulseLuper VJ Performace. A tribute to British cinema will also take
place as it will be the honored guest country.
Guanajuato is home to some of the most internationally known cultural festivals
in Mexico
including the Cervantino Festival, which takes place
in October and brings together cinema, literature and theatre. While staying in
