China to be honored guest at 35th Festival Cervantino in Guanajuato

The World's Largest Catwalk in San Luis Potosi

On August 1st, San Luis Potosi will host the largest fashion show in the world featuring the designs of Pineda Covalin, a Mexican fashion house renowned worldwide, which will showcase colorful silks with rich native symbols and ethnic pre-Hispanic prints as well as contemporary Mexican expressions. San Luis Potosi aims to be part of the Guinness book of World Record with its more than 656-foot long catwalk that will feature more than 80 models at the Center for the Arts, an ex-penitentiary converted into a school for arts. The fashion show will benefit a non-profit organization for children with cancer.

In the capital city, you can enjoy the Festival of Lights, a remarkable show of light and sound that paints and transforms the fascinating facades into a monumental canvas; a must see show that takes place every weekend at the splendid historic center.

San Luis Potosi, a magnificent colonial city, capital of the state of San Luis Potosi, is becoming a key cultural center - a place with an important artistic proposal - that is taking advantage of the exquisite baroque and neoclassical architecture of its historical downtown area to create outstanding performances.

The state of San Luis Potosi is also well-known for its exuberant natural resources such as, waterfalls, caves, rivers and lagoons - a perfect place for eco-tourism and adventure; and the house of an unusual and magical town: Real de Catorce, an old mining town full of legends and ancient structures. There are plenty of hotel options in the capital city, one of the most interesting being the Palacio de San Agustin Museum Hotel, where the Order of the Augustinians used to host their guests - it is truly a lavish trip back in time!
