China to be honored guest at 35th Festival Cervantino in Guanajuato

Mexico-the new Hollywood Hills?

If you think the only place to catch a glimpse of a celebrity is in L.A., think again. From Ben Stiller to Hugh Jackman, to members of Metallica and the Star Trek cast, in the past few months, stars have been flocking towards the tourist destinations of Mexico. Celebrities who have particular tastes and can sometimes be hard to please, have discovered that Mexico, with its beautiful beaches, great food, and warm hospitality, not only meets but exceeds their expectations.

On May 26th at a press conference held in Mexico City, the famous Australian actor Hugh Jackman showed his support for Mexico and recognized the country and its people for their resilience and quick actions towards handling the recent health scare. But he also learned that Mexico is a great place to vacation. “I’ve visited Mexico many times, and its people are incredibly friendly. Mexico is art, culture, architecture, gastronomy, happiness and history, this is a marvelous blend and one has to be crazy not to come here,” the actor said.

Mexican screenwriter Roberto Orci of the new Star Trek is originally from Mexico City, and said that he was delighted to return to this city, which he considers to be a true beauty. Actors Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock, stated he would return and visit the city soon, and Saldana, who plays Uhura, celebrated this encounter and applauded the people of Mexico City for their warmth.

In the third of their concerts in Mexico, the heavy metal group Metallica recorded part of their World Magnetic Tour DVD in Mexico City. During their visit, they went around the city with James Hetfield and Rob Trujillo visiting Teotihuacan, trying on a few hats and buying a Guadalupana carved in stone.

But celebrities are not only supporting Mexico by physically visiting the country—they are being vocal about their love for this magical place. Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz wore a t-shirt during one of his concerts that read: “No Danger! Come to Mexico” and Shakira, was the center of attention when in Los Angeles she was seen wearing a t-shirt with the words: “Pretty girls like me vacation in Mexico.”

The list of celebrities enjoying Mexico is endless. From Kim Kardashian and her sisters staying at a beautiful mansion in Punta Mita, just North of Puerto Vallarta, to Ben Stiller, these stars know about beautiful beaches and are choosing the sunsets of Mexico.
