for MTV's "Real World: Cancun" Not
Affected By Influenza
After much speculation that the Influenza A H1N1 virus
caused the halt of MTV's 22nd season of The Real World" in one of Mexico's
top resorts, Executive Producer, Jim Johnston, clarified and informed the
public that production had already wrapped up and that the cast and most crew
members were already back home in the states when the news about the virus
broke out in late April.
ME by Melia in Cancun played host to both the cast
and crew of The Real World: Cancun,
"and by the time news broke
out about the influenza virus, only a few local crew members remained onsite
doing some finishing touches to the production. Johnston himself was in Cancun while the news spread saying, I really didn't want
to leave, and I would have happily stayed.
The state of Quintana Roo has taken any and all
preventive measures to assure the safety and well being of its tourists during
their stay in any of its distinguished destinations. Sanitary measures have
been extended to all hotels, restaurants and shops along the Mexican Caribbean
corridor.
