has various parks and recreational centers where you can enjoy fun family
outings in natural settings.
Centro de Interpretacion de la Naturaleza Yumka ?
Located 14 km (9 mi) southeast of Villahermosa,
off Highway 186. You can tour this nature center on foot, on a tram, or by
boat. The center has 300 animal species that are dispersed in distinct
ecosystems: a jungle, a savanna and marshes. The animals run free in these
environments, allowing you to enjoy a more direct experience. Open daily from 9:00 to 5:00.
Parque Museo de
la Venta ? Located on Blvd. Adolfo
Ruiz Cortines. The park?s museum has numerous Olmec archaeological pieces from the La Venta
site. The park also has a zoo with various mammal, reptile and bird species,
the majority of which are endangered. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 8:00 to 4:00.
Parque Tomas Garrido
Canabal ? Located on
Blvd. Adolfo Ruiz Cortines. This park has various
recreational areas and architectural attractions that blend pre-Hispanic and
colonial elements. It also offers beautiful gardens.
Planetario Tabasco
2000 ? Located on Prolongacion
Paseo Tabasco. This planetarium has a domed Omnimax
theater where you can see science- and technology-themed projections. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 to 8:30.
