In Villahermosa you?ll find various examples of contemporary architecture that reflect the region?s modern tendencies in recent years.

 

Palacio Municipal ? Located on Prolongacion Av. Paseo Tabasco. In front of this modern building you?ll see various fountains, such as the Fuente de los Pescadores (The Fishermen?s Fountain). The palace has a spacious interior patio where you?ll find a sculpture called El Despertar de Villahermosa (The Awakening of Villahermosa).

 

Centro Administrativo de Gobierno ? Located at 1504 Prolongacion Av. Paseo Tabasco. This is one of the state capital?s most modern government buildings. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens that are adorned with big columns.

 

Casa de los Azulejos ? Located on the corner of Av. 27 de Febrero and Benito Juarez. This house gets its name from the ceramic tiles used to decorate it. Inside you can appreciate various architectural details of gothic and Moorish influences.
