OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Near Torreon there are areas with spacious fields, mountains and beautiful natural scenery where you can get in some exercise while enjoying nature.

Poza de la Becerra. Located in the Cuatro Cienegas Valley, 230 km (143 mi) from Torreon, off the Cuatrocienegas-Torreon Highway 30. This is a natural swimming resort that offers diverse tourist services, including palapas, volleyball courts, barbeque grills and much more. You can do diverse outdoor activities near this spring with crystalline waters, including photography and hiking along trails surrounded by natural beauty.

Protected Area of Cuatro Cienegas Valley. Located 245 km (152 mi) from Torreon, off the Cuatrocienegas-Torreon Highway 30. This region covers about 150,000 hectares (3.7 million acres) and has an important supply of underground water. Near the ponds you can do various recreational activities, such as hiking along extensive trails or rappelling down the face of a mountain.

Sierra de Jimulco. Located 55 km (34 mi) southeast of Torreon. This forested area has a wide variety of ecosystems, which allows you to observe diverse indigenous plant and animal species. Thanks to its gorgeous countryside and mountain landscapes, this is the ideal place for hiking and horseback riding. If you?d like to do some rappelling or rock climbing, the Cerro del Picacho has a summit that rises 3,210 meters (10,593 feet) above sea level.
