TOURIST SERVICES

 

Highway 180 connects Chichen Itza to Cancun and the state of Quintana Roo in the eastern region, and to the city of Merida in the west. In Merida, bus lines Super Expreso and Autotransportes de Oriente (a second-class bus) depart to Chichen Itza. The ride takes about an hour and a half. You can also arrive by plane on airlines Aerocaribe, Aeromexico, Aviacsa and Mexicana, which offer service to a local airport and nearby Merida and Cancun.

 

Local Airport ? Located at Km 132.2 off the Merida-Cancun Highway, Kawua-Yucatan, in Chichen Itza. Tel. (985) 851-0408

 

Cancun International Airport ? Located off the Cancun-Tulum Highway, 5 km (3 mi) from the hotel zone and 8 km (5 mi) from the city center. The airport has taxi and bus services to Cancun, the hotel zone and Playa del Carmen.

 

Manuel Crescencio Rejon Airport ? Located at Km 4.5 off the Merida-Uman Highway. Tel. (999) 946-1340

 

Bus Terminal ? Located on Calle 39, at Calle 46, in the city of Valladolid, 45 km (28 mi) east of Chichen Itza.
