Touring the Missions. Departing from Tijuana, take
Highway 1 south for 45 km
(28 mi)
to reach Mision El Descanso,
which still has its original ceramic floor tiling and faded adobe walls intact.
About 25 km
(15 mi)
ahead you?ll find the town of La Mision,
where you can visit the San Miguel Arcangel de La Frontera,
which also has its original adobe walls intact. Continue along the same
highway for 30 km
(19 mi)
to reach the ruins of Mision de Guadalupe. There you?ll
see the remains of a mission that indigenous people destroyed in the 19th
century. The last stop on the route is the tourist port
of Ensenada,
located 113 km
(70 mi)
south of Tijuana.
There you can enjoy all kinds of water sports and many other activities at the
hotels, bars and nightclubs.
