Surrounding Areas ? Departing from Riviera Nayarit, take Highway 200 to Punta Sayulita,
a small town and fishing village that has beautiful beaches and a cove. Here
you can take a boat ride, go fishing, or surfing in the surrounding areas.
Continuing along the same highway, 18 km (11 mi) ahead you?ll
arrive at El Monteon, a place with ideal waves for
surfing and other aquatic sports. Next, head north for about 7 km (4 mi) until
you reach Rincon de Guayabitos, where you can visit a
beach that stretches 3 km (2 mi). This spot is known
as the largest natural swimming pool in the world, due to the formation of its
bay and the position of its coral island. It has an excellent tourism infrastructure,
as it offers everything from comfortable hotels to restaurants serving
delicious food. The last stop on the tour is Peñita
de Jaltemba, which lies 5 km (3 mi) from Guayabitos. This is a rocky bay with
small islands that offer gorgeous marine landscapes. The beaches here
are warm and quiet. You can also check out the picturesque fishing village.
