Touring Cumbres de Monterrey National Park. The first stop on this tour is the Cerro de la Silla. To arrive there, take Av. Chapultepec to the Colonia La Pastora, then cross the Rio La Silla and head east. About 600 meters (1,980 feet) ahead you?ll find a turnoff to the right that leads to the Cerro de la Silla. This magnificent saddle-shaped hill is 1575 meters (5,197 feet) high. There you can go hiking, observe the landscape and do photo safaris. The next stop is Cascada Cola de Caballo, which is about 40 km (25 mi) from the city. To get there, take Highway 85 southeast to the town of Santiago. When you reach Km 39 take the turnoff to the right, which has signs that will lead you to this spectacular 25-meter (82-foot) waterfall. Near there you?ll find a hotel where you can do a 70-meter (231-foot) bungee jump, the ideal recreational activity for those who like extreme sports. The last stop on the route is Cañon de Matacanes (Matacanes Canyon), which you can reach by taking Highway 85 to a dirt road turnoff that passes by several ranches. Here you can discover marvelous natural attractions, including waterfalls, ravines, crystalline springs and caves. This is a true paradise for those who enjoy canyoneering.
