Route to Santa Rosalia ? Departing from Loreto, take the Transpeninsular Highway 1 north to Bahia Concepcion (Concepcion Bay), located 97 km (60 mi) northwest of Loreto. This is one of the most popular beach destinations in the state of Baja California Sur. Here you can go camping and enjoy the marvelous scenery of the Sea of Cortez. Continuing along the same highway, 42 km (26 mi) ahead you?ll arrive at Mulege, which lies in a lush valley region with a river that runs to an estuary on the coast. In this city you can visit the Santa Rosa de Mulege Mission, the Regional Museum, the estuary and El Sombrerito beach. The last stop on the tour is the town of Santa Rosalia, which is 62 km (38 mi) north of Mulege. In this town you can marvel at the French- and English-influenced architecture.
