The Mayan Riviera is one of the best-linked destinations in the country. Highway 307 connects the city of Cancun in the north to the state capital of Quintana Roo, Chetumal, in the south. Chetumal lies 159 km (98 mi) from the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. To arrive at many Quintana Roo destinations by boat, Playa del Carmen, Punto Venados and Puerto Morelos have docks where cruise liners offer services to various Caribbean cities. They also have ferry services to Cozumel Island. As for air travel, the best place to arrive in the Mayan Riviera is the Cancun International Airport, which is about 45 minutes from Playa del Carmen. Aeromexico, Mexicana, Aerolineas Azteca, Aviacsa and Aerocaribe de Mexico offer domestic flights into Cancun, while America Airlines, Continental, Northwest and British Airways have international flights from the United States and the rest of the world.
