BOATING
The Mayan Riviera has excellent
docks, marinas and piers with all the necessary services for boating
enthusiasts.
Marina El Cid de Puerto Morelos. Located
36 km (22 mi) south of Cancun. It has concrete docks
with up to 150 slips, and offers all the nautical services with 24-hour
security.
Marina de
Punta Venado. Located 12 km (7.5 mi) south
of Playa del Carmen. It has a ferry terminal that provides transportation
services for passengers and cargo headed to Cozumel. It?s also where stone
materials are exported to the United States.
Puerto Calica. Located at Km 282.6 off the Cancun-Tulum
Highway 307. This port receives international cruise ships and local ferries
that link the mainland with the islands of the Mexican Caribbean. It also has
commercial liners departing to U.S., Central American and Caribbean ports.
Muelle Majahual. Located 1
km (1/2 mi) north of the city of Majahual. This major cruise dock
has been operating since 2001 and receives up to half a million visitors each
year. It has the capacity to receive more than 300 cruise ships, and even
though relatively new, it has become one of the most important tourist docks in
the Mexican Caribbean.
Marina de
Puerto Aventuras. Located at Km 269.5 off the Chetumal-Puerto Juarez Highway, this marina holds up to
