The wide variety of cultural and sports events carried out each year in Mazatlan reaffirms the port's importance as a tourist destination.

 

The Grand International Tennis Tournament ? This event takes place in June at the Casa Club del Cid; it draws various professional tennis players from around the world.

 

The International Regatta from Long Beach ? This takes place in November off the coast of the Mazatlan port; it brings together spectacular sailboats that compete in the event.

 

The Jesus Arnoldo Millan International Golf Tournament ? This important event takes place during the first week of December at the El Cid golf course.

 

The Bisbee?s Billfish Classic Fishing Tournament ? This significant tournament is carried out in November, drawing fishermen from all over the world as they compete to catch the biggest swordfish, sailfish and marlin. All of the fish are set free after the competition.

 

The Sinaloa Arts Festival ? This two-week festival takes place in October. It features theatrical performances, opera, ballet, classical music and other concerts.

 

The Mazatlan Cultural Festival ? Celebrated from October to December, during this festival you can enjoy piano recitals, art exhibits, theatrical performances, opera, rock concerts and other live music.

 

Teatro Angela Peralta ? Located on the corners of Zaragosa and Benito Juarez. The showy façade has five classical columns; the theatre hosts the Sinaloa Arts Festival and the Mazatlan Cultural Festival, among other cultural events.
