On Isla Mujeres you can visit the ruined remains of a Mayan temple dedicated to fertility goddess Ixchel.

Templo de Ixchel. Located on the island?s southern end. This small temple was dedicated to Ixchel, the Mayan goddess of fertility. At the site you?ll see a small limestone platform that was probably used as a lighthouse to guide ships sailing along the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.
