In the surrounding areas of Tlaxcala you?ll find several places to have fun or relax in a healthy atmosphere. They offer impressive green areas, swimming pools and first-rate services.

Jardin Botanico de Tizatlan (Botanical Garden). Located on Blvd. Revolucion. This beautiful garden covers 8 hectares (20 acres) and is divided into various sections: a grove, aquatic plants, cacti and succulent plants, a greenhouse and a nursery. It also has rooms for special events, a library and nature trails. Open daily from 6:30 to 4:00.

Centro Vacacional La Trinidad. Located on Avenida del Trabajo, in Santa Cruz, 14 km (9 mi) east of Tlaxcala, off the Chiautempan state highway. This is a pleasant recreational area with neo-gothic architecture that is certain to grab your attention. It has swimming pools, manmade lakes, tennis courts, barbeque grills and bicycle and ATV rentals.

Zoologico del Altiplano (Alitplano Zoo). Located about 20 km (12 mi) south of Tlaxcala at Km 37.5 off the Apizaco-Puebla federal highway. At this zoo you?ll find more than 60 animal species, including birds, reptiles and mammals. There are also educational areas where you can participate in interactive activities. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 5:00.
