Morelia has various leisure and recreational options that offer fun for the whole family. You can go on a guided tour at the zoo, visit the city’s planetarium or enjoy a day at an amusement parkthis city has it all!

 

Parque Zoologico Benito Juarez (Zoo)Located on Calzada Juarez, at Avenida Camelinas. This zoo has the largest bird exhibit in Latin America. Its grounds include a manmade lake, where you can take out a rowboat; a train and so-called metro-zoo, which offer tours of the zoo; pony and llama rides; a bat exhibit; an ecological house; a snake exhibit; a petting zoo; and the Serengeti and Bird World museums.

 

Parque 150Located on Blvd. Arriaga Rivera, at Avenida Camelinas. This is an ideal place for children, as it has slides, swings, a trampoline, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, a soccer field, a skating rink, picnic and camping areas, quadricycle rentals, a small bird sanctuary, a miniature zoo, rides and an animal museum. The zoo is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 5:00.

 

Planetario Felipe RiveraLocated on Avenida Puente, at Avenida Camelinas. This planetarium has a dome that measures 20 meters (66 feet) in diameter, which functions as a screen. Some 164 projectors are used to project images of our planet’s astral movements. You can also see images of the Milky Way, 17 constellations and main orbit patterns. Opens Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 pm and Sundays at 6:30 pm.
