The 23 most beautiful villages in Mexico, also called the "Magical Villages", are places where
the main attraction is found in the enchanting beauty their architecture,
gastronomy and colorful traditional
fiestas full of music still conserve.
In order to promote the magic and colorfulness of traditional Mexico,
the Ministry of Tourism created a program with the 23 most picturesque sites in
the country: the ghost town of Real de Catorce in San Luis Potosí, the island
of Mexcaltitán in Nayarit, the mining villages of Alamos in Sonora, Real
del Monte in Hidalgo, Taxco in Guerrero and Tlalpujahua in Michoacán. The list
also includes the elegant and colonial atmosphere of Tepotzotlán in the state
of Mexico and San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato, contrasted
by the autochthonous charm of Cuetzalan in Puebla and San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas. Apart from all this, we have the fertile valleys of
Parras and Tequila in the states of Coahuila and Jalisco and in the state of Guanajuato
there is the city of Dolores Hidalgo which is the cradle of our independence. There is
also Bernal in Querétaro, Pátzcuaro in Michoacán and Valle del Bravo in the
state of Mexico, all surrounded by mountainous and lacunose
landscapes. In the program were also included the colonial monuments of Izamal
in Yucatán and the beautiful forests, tiled roof houses and typically paved
streets of Huasca in Hidalgo, Comala in Colima and Cosalá in Sinaloa. The town
of Tepoztlán in Morelos, surrounded by mystic landscapes as well
as the mysterious caverns, beautiful waterfalls and ancient houses of Tapalpa
and Mazamitla in Jalisco also form part of the 23 most attractive villages in Mexico. All of these places are notorious for their charming
architecture, exquisite gastronomy and traditional festivities which will make
you fall in love with Mexico.
