Among the many architectural elements you?ll find at the convents in the state of Oaxaca are fountains, domes and cupolas of extraordinary beauty. If you?d like to see them, the tour begins at the Ex-Convent of Santo Domingo, which houses a beautiful remodeled museum in the state capital. Afterwards, you can visit the Ex-Convent of San Pedro and San Pablo, in the nearby town of Villa de Etla. After that, you can drop by the Ex-Convent of Santo Domingo in Yanhuitlan, which has Baroque altarpieces and an enormous stone baptismal font. In Teposcolula you?ll find lovely sculptures and Churrigueresque-style altarpieces at the San Pedro and San Pablo Convent.
