In San Luis Potosi?s environs you?ll find waterfalls and abysses where you can do a wide variety of exciting outdoor recreational activities.

 

Cascada de Tamul ? Lies 277 km (172 mi) east of San Luis Potosi, off Highway 70. At this place you can rappel down rock formations that flank an extraordinary waterfall.

 

Sotano de las Golondrinas ? Located more than 300 km (186 mi) southeast of San Luis Potosi, off Highway 70. Within this 285-hectare (703-acre) protected area you?ll find a truly unique ecosystem in an abyss that is 512 meters (1,690 feet) deep. At this natural attraction, considered the sixth deepest abyss in the world, you can enjoy rappelling and cave diving. Trained guides offer lessons and equipment rentals.

 

Sotano de las Guaguas ? Located more than 300 km (186 mi) southeast of San Luis Potosi. This cave is 70 meters (231 feet) in diameter and 478 meters (1577 feet) deep. To reach the bottom, you?ll have to rappel down a vertical pit.
