There are two places near Veracruz where you?ll find ideal conditions for mountain bike riding, as they offer trails lined with lush vegetation. If mountain biking isn?t your thing, you can take an all-terrain vehicle out on sand dunes.

Playa Chachalacas. Located 50 km (31 mi) north of Veracruz, this long beach of fine sand and calm waters is ideal for doing all kinds of aquatic sports. Here you can ride an all-terrain vehicle across extensive sand dunes on the beach?s northern end. Rentals are only available on weekends and vacation periods.

Jalcomulco. Located 143 km (89 mi) northwest of Veracruz and 39 km (24 mi) from Xalapa; lies near the Pescados River. At this place you can go mountain bike riding down sloped trails while observing the diverse flora and fauna.
