Among Tepoztlan?s most notable crafts are miniature houses made of pochote wood; rainsticks (bamboo filled with sand and other granules), which produce a sound similar to rainfall when they are turned on end; and bark paper objects, such as paintings and lamps made by the region?s indigenous people. You can purchase these items in the town?s stores, at the marketplace, or at the outdoor crafts market held on Sundays.
