The El Tordo Sandbar
The Carrizal River forms a scenic sandbar at
the point where its flows into the Gulf of Mexico, about 165 km north of
Tampico. This little fishing village is surrounded by thick vegetation, and the
beach, an ideal place for camping, has a few palm hut shelters and some seafood
restaurants. You will be able to see turtles and all sorts of fish.
