In Tampico you can explore the ruins of an ancient Huastec settlement.

 

Las Flores ? Located on Av. Hidalgo, near the corner of Av. Chairel, in Colonia Las Flores. Inhabited between AD 900 ? 1200, the most striking structure here is a rotund pyramid with a frontal staircase. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 to 5:00.
