SURFING
Puerto Escondido offers excellent
options for surfing, as the waves can reach up to 6 meters (20 feet).
Playa Zicatela. Located
southeast of Puerto Escondido. This long beach has fine sand and a
steep slope, making it a good spot to do aquatic sports. At this beach the
waves can reach up to 6 meters (20 feet), which is why it hosts the
International Surfing Tournament.
Playa Marineros. Lies east of
Puerto Escondido. This beach has very strong waves, making it one of the best surfing
spots.
