Near Saltillo you can visit a site where you can learn about the dinosaurs that inhabited the Coahuila desert region.

 

Rincon Colorado ? Located in General Cepeda, 44 km (27 mi) west of Saltillo, off Highway 40. The region?s most important discoveries of dinosaur fossils have been made at this site. Here paleontologists have dug up fossils of the hadrosaurus, or duckbilled dinosaur, and the lambeosaurus. You also can visit the on-site museum, where you can learn how the desert region evolved after the dinosaurs went extinct.
