The festivities in San Miguel de Allende are traditions of strong Spanish influence, as
you?ll notice at the Sanmiguelada, which is similar
to Spain?s Pamplona Festival. The
event is held in September as part of the religious celebration of San Miguel Arcangel. Another Spanish-influenced festivity is the
Fiesta de San Antonio de Padua, which takes place in
June. During this celebration you?ll see fireworks shows, live music,
processions and bullfights. During Holy Week, the city celebrates La Virgen de los Dolores, which
features a contest to make the best altar. Also during that time of year you
can enjoy St. Patrick?s Day celebration, which includes a parade, Irish food
and music.
