In San Miguel de Allende?s surrounding areas you can enjoy a pleasant ride on a mountain bike. For those who have something more adventurous in mind, you can do paragliding or skydiving under the supervision of trained instructors.

 

El Cerro del Cubilete. Located 123 km (76 mi) west of San Miguel de Allende, this site is ideal for paragliding. It has a moderate slope that serves as a launching pad.

 

Celaya Local Airport. Located 114 km (71 mi) southwest of San Miguel de Allende. At this airport you can go skydiving with a trained instructor. A plane will take you up 10,000 feet, allowing you to experience the rush of a 220-km/h (136-mph) freefall.

 

Jardin Botanico El Charco del Ingenio. Located 2.5 km (1 mi) northeast of San Miguel de Allende, off Highway 1. This 100-hectare (247-acre) ecological reserve was created to protect and conserve the region?s wildlife. Here you can go mountain bike riding along rocky dirt roads at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph).
