Nuevo Vallarta has five kilometers of
beach with fine sand, and a gentle slope and waves, perfect for sunbathing,
playing your favorite sport and enjoying the spectacular sunsets. The beaches
in the north part of Bahía de Banderas such as Bucerías, Cruz de Huanacaxtle,
Corral del Risco and Punta Mita are all within easy reach of Nuevo Vallarta.
Bucerías Beach
Located
only 10 km
northwest of Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías is a large,
wide beach that is ideal for scuba diving and fishing. The surrounding
landscape is stunning and can be admired from the panoramic highway.
Corral del Risco Beach
A great
place for practicing water sports, as you can rent any equipment you need there
on the beach. Its greenish-blue waters break gently on a softly inclined,
200-meter long, 15-meter wide, sandy beach.
Cruz de Huanacaxtle Beach
This
tranquil beach with its gentle waves is the ideal place to vacation and even to
live, as it has services such as Villa Cruz with houses, swimming pools, and
excellent restaurants.
Punta Mita
This is
where Sierra Vallejo ends, forming a kind of peninsula that juts sharply into
the sea, thus closing off Bahía de Banderas on the northern side. This spot is located 32 km from Nuevo Vallarta and
is an excellent place for fishing, diving, watching the birds on the islets, or
simply relaxing on its golden sands.
