FISHING

Puerto Escondido has several spots where you can go fishing for marlin, sailfish, dorado and tuna throughout the entire year.

Playa Principal. Located south of Puerto Escondido. Here you can rent boats and equipment for inshore and offshore fishing excursions. In November, you can compete in an annual fishing tournament.

Laguna de Manialtepec. Located 16 km (10 mi) west of Puerto Escondido, off Highway 200. This lagoon is 8 km (5 mi) long and is surrounded by mangroves and dense vegetation. This is one the best places to go fishing. In these waters you?ll find mojarra, bass, mullet and catfish.
