FESTIVALS
AND TRADITIONS
Pachuca hosts the
most important cultural event in the state
of Hidalgo: the Pachuca
Fair. The fair, which is held in October,
draws thousands of visitors. It
features rodeos, live shows, crafts, industry and livestock
expositions, rides and regional dance performances. Other important festivities in the Windy City?s surrounding
areas include the Maguey Fair and the Barley Fair in Aban, ten-day events
that begin in April, one week
ahead of Easter. At these
fairs you can find objects made of maguey fibers and food and
drink prepared with barley. On
July 25, you can attend the Fruit
Fair of Tecozautla, where you can buy
preserves, wines, marmalades
and ciders, among other products.
