see in the colorful crafts. Begin your tour by walking along the streets of
cosmopolitan Tepic,
the state capital, where museums, historic buildings and beautiful parks await

Vallarta-Nayarit, on the BanderasBay,
a 1,440-km2 extension of fine-sand beaches and calm waters. This is an ideal
spot to enjoy water sports and it?s only 10 minutes
north of the Puerto
VallartaInternationalAirport.
If you head southwest from the capital, you?ll hit the coast of Punta
Mita and
ecological reserve MarietasIslands,
which is an important refuge for the humpback whale from November through April
and has thousand of sea birds. There you can also go scuba diving, snorkeling
and camping. In addition, this area hosts two important sporting events that
you won?t want to miss: the Banderas Bay
International Regatta and the World Champion Challenger fishing tournament. If
you choose to continue exploring the beach destinations and are looking for a
place with excellent tourism facilities, visit the Rincon de Guayabitos, a 3-km (2-mi) stretch of beach with excellent
