In Monterrey?s surrounding areas there are two nature reserves where you can enjoy the pleasant experience of camping amid beautiful forest and mountain landscapes.

 

Cascada Cola de Caballo Ecotourism Park. This park has gorgeous natural scenery, lookout points and barbeque grills, making it the ideal camping spot. Open daily from 9:00 to 7:00.

 

Chipinque Ecological Park. Located about 8 km (5 mi) south of Monterrey, in the town of San Pedro Garza Garcia. This is a nature reserve that covers an area of 1625 hectares (4,013 acres). The forest area is home to 120 bird species and 22 mammal varieties. Here you?ll find a camping site that provides restrooms and security service. Open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
