FESTIVALS AND TRADITIONS

 

One of the main celebrations that take place in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is Dia de la Marina, which is held on May 2. During this ceremony, a group of pilgrims carry a banner of the Virgin of Guadalupe from Ixtapa to Zihuatanejo aboard decorated boats. Later, a Mass service and dance performances are offered.
