Hermosillo boasts beautiful old
architecture of various styles, allowing you to appreciate part of the city?s
great history.
Catedral de la Asuncion de Hermosillo (Cathedral) ? Located on the corner
of Blvd. Hidalgo
and Melchor Ocampo. This is one of the
city?s most important buildings. It was built using an eclectic mix of
neoclassic and neogothic elements. The most striking
features are the elegant columns and the pedestals that adorn the main façade.
Also of interest are the ogival windows, the towers
and the hemispherical finial. Open daily from 8:00 to 8:00.
Palacio de Gobierno ? Located on the corner of Comonfort
and Dr. Paliza. This edifice, which was inaugurated
at the beginning of the 19th century, has a sober neoclassic façade
with a semicircular pediment and a clock tower. Inside you?ll see a patio and
staircases that have a series of contemporary murals. Open Monday through
Friday from 8:00 to 3:00.
