In Guanajuato there are world-famous workshops where artisans produce authentic majolica ceramics, as well as traditional pottery, such as dishes and bowls, spice bottles and glazed earthenware pots. This art form has been handed down from generation to generation since the colonial era. In the city center you can also buy gold and silver jewelry; the latter is called Baroque silver. You?ll also find wool fabrics, clay and brass utensils, wood sculptures, hand blown glass, and Mexican toys: tops, yo-yos and baleros.
