BEACHES

The beaches of Puerto Escondido allow you to enjoy crystalline waters, fine sand and various outdoor recreational activities, including surfing and fishing tournaments.

Playa Bacocho. Lies west of Puerto Escondido. This long beach with warm calm waters is divided into three sections by large rock formations. In the surrounding areas you can take a walk among the abundant vegetation that surrounds the bay.

Playa Carrizalillo. Located southwest of Puerto Escondido. This 140-meter (462-foot) beach has white sand and blue-green waters. The waves are small, making it a good spot for children.

Playa Marineros. Lies east of Puerto Escondido. This beach is 200 meters (660 feet) long and has gray sand, a gentle slope and blue-green waters. The big waves are ideal for surfing.

Playa Principal. Located south of Puerto Escondido. This 500-meter (1,650-foot) beach with warm waters and mild surf offers boat rentals to tour the bay.

Playa Zicatela. Located southeast of Puerto Escondido. This long beach has fine sand and a steep slope, making it a good spot to do aquatic sports. Here you can take a stroll along a shoreline with gorgeous scenery or you can go swimming.

Puerto Angelito. Lies south of Puerto Escondido. This is the bay?s most visited beach. In addition to its warm waters and quiet atmosphere, it offers equipment rentals for snorkeling.
