Nayarit?s most important festivities is the Festival
de la Virgen de la Paz, which is
held in January in Bucerias. At this
interesting festival, you can see dance performances, try all kinds of food and
visit the local fair. In May, the town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
hosts a religious celebration called La Santa Cruz, which features parades and
traditional dance. In September, in the town of San
Francisco, a one-day celebration takes
place to honor Saint Francis of Assisi.
The festivities include regional dance performances, sporting competitions and
a parade.
