Outside of the archaeological zone
you?ll find a crafts market and numerous stands offering all kinds of
souvenirs, including hats and curious figurines of ancient Mayan gods. In the
nearby town of Valladolid, which lies 45 km (28 mi) east of ChichenItza, artisans in the main plaza and various shops
sell tablecloths, cloth napkins and huipiles
(traditional Mayan dresses).
