KAYAKING
Kayaking is one of numerous water
sports that you can do in Los Cabos, thanks to its
mostly calm waters. While paddling through its amazing waters you?ll develop a
greater appreciation for the region?s abundant marine life. From the water?s
surface, you?ll see pelicans, sea lions and seals, amongst other species.
El Arco. Located
on the southernmost tip of the Baja
California Peninsula in Cabo San Lucas. This is a place where the waters of
the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet. At this location,
there is an arch-shaped rock formation that has become the symbol of Los Cabos. You can arrive there by boat in 20 minutes. Because
of its calm waters, it is a good area for kayaking, especially while enjoying a
gorgeous sunset. You can rent the equipment on El Medano
Beach and from there you can paddle out to El Arco.
El Chileno. Located at Km 14.5 on the Corredor
Turistico between San Jose del Cabo
and Cabo San Lucas, this popular beach has calm
waters and plenty of palm trees if you want to relax in the shade. Its tranquil
waters make it a great option for kayaking.
Playa del Amor. This beach is hidden
behind the famous Arco in Cabo San Lucas. To arrive
there you?ll need to take a water taxi that departs from the marina or El Medano Beach. This romantic spot, which can only be seen
every four years when the tide recedes, offers a view of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. Kayaking is one of
several sports you can do along this long and quiet beach.
El Medano. Located in the middle of the Cabo San Lucas Bay near Marina Sol, it is
one of the most popular beaches in Los Cabos. From El
Medano, you can kayak to other beaches and to El
Arco. The waters are calm and kayak-friendly.
Estero
de San Jose del Cabo. A protected area in the
heart of San Jose del Cabo which is 992 kilometers (615 miles) south of Guerrero Negro along the Transpeninsular Highway. This tropical sanctuary is home to
more than 150 bird species. This is an excellent spot for kayaking. Between the fresh waters of a river and the
salt waters of the sea, you can kayak in a tropical estuary surrounded by
natural beauty.
