HISTORICAL
ARCHITECTURE
The historical architecture of this
destination is reflected in the monuments of San Jose del Cabo,
a colonial town where you and the family can walk down the streets and enjoy
the magic and tradition that has persisted over the years, despite the town?s
rapid growth.
Palacio Municipal ? In downtown San Jose
del Cabo on Belisario Dominguez Street,
this building built in 1891 has sober, yet beautiful architecture. Currently,
it is the city hall building.
Mision Estero
de las Palmas de San Jose del Cabo ? Located 57 kilometers (35 miles) from the San
Jose del Cabo Bay in the town of Las Palmas. Inside,
a mosaic depicts indigenous villagers killing missionary Nicolas Tamaral, one of the mission?s founders.
Faro Viejo ? Located in Cabo Falso, 19 kilometers from Cabo San Lucas, this monument was built in 1890. It towers 150 meters (500 feet) high, and the
only way to arrive there is on horseback or in an off-road vehicle.
