MUSEUMS

The city of Cuernavaca has several museums that house important collections of art from all over the world. In one of these museums you can see recreated rooms of a 19th-century home.

Museo Cuauhnahuac ? Located in the Palacio de Cortes. This museum has Diego Rivera murals and various archaeological exhibits. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 to 5:00.

Museo Robert Brady ? Located at 4 Nezahualcoyotl Street, between Av. 20 de Noviembre and Av. Hidalgo. The museum houses about 1,400 works of art, which was the collection of Robert Brady. The exhibits include old ceremonial objects, colonial paintings, rugs and contemporary pieces. Open Tuesday through Sunday. Guided tours are available for groups with reservations.

Museo de Sitio Casa Borda ? Located in Jardin Borda. This museum was created in the rooms of Emperor Maximilian and his wife Carlota. You can still see some elements of the original construction. It also features a recreated 19th-century kitchen, as well as furniture and clothes from the era. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 5:30.
