MUSEUMS
The city of Cuernavaca has several museums that house
important collections of art from
all over the world. In one
of these museums you can see recreated rooms
of a 19th-century
home.
Museo Cuauhnahuac ? Located in the
Palacio de Cortes. This museum
has Diego Rivera murals and
various archaeological exhibits. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 to 5:00.
Museo Robert Brady
? Located at 4 Nezahualcoyotl
Street, between Av. 20 de Noviembre
and Av. Hidalgo.
The museum houses about 1,400 works of art,
which was the collection of Robert Brady.
The exhibits include old ceremonial objects, colonial paintings, rugs and contemporary
pieces. Open Tuesday through Sunday. Guided tours are available for groups
with reservations.
Museo de Sitio Casa
Borda ? Located in Jardin Borda. This museum was
created in the rooms of Emperor
Maximilian and his wife Carlota. You can still see
some elements of the original construction. It also features a recreated 19th-century
kitchen, as well as furniture and clothes
from the era. Open Tuesday through
Sunday from 10:00 to 5:30.
