This region has a rich offering of crafts, including unique regional ornaments and basketwork made of pine leaves. The Raramuris employ the use of natural materials to make beautiful necklaces and bracelets made of wood and seeds. They also make earrings using bird feathers. In the town of Mata Ortiz, 25 km (16 mi) south of Casas Grandes, you?ll find the famous Paquime ceramics, known throughout the world for their detailed and original designs. At the Casa de Artesanias, in Creel, you can buy lovely shawls, baskets, vases, clay figurines, jewelry made with colored beads, wood sculptures and many other precious handmade items.
