Located in the state of Morelos, Cuernavaca is better known as the “City of Eternal Spring”, and has long been a favorite weekend getaway for many of Mexico City’s inhabitants due to its wonderful weather and proximity to the capital. Recently, Cuernavaca has experienced a surge in the Meetings Industry, becoming a spot where companies, national and international, hold off-site meetings, team building exercises and medium sized conferences. The city also offers it´s visitors relaxing and cultural experiences like visits to vestiges of pre-colonial civilizations, luxury spas and world-class golfing.

Notable things to visit in Cuernavaca include the city center’s two plazas, which feature famous mariachis, exceptional dining options and the Cuauhnahuac Museum, a major cultural attraction featuring works from Diego Rivera. The destination also features several nearby eco-tourism options, including visits to a lagoon and forest covered National Park. The Tepozteco ruins are also a short drive outside of the city, located atop the scenic mountains that surround the “Pueblo Mágico” or “Magical town” of Tepoztlan. The nearby archaeological site of Xochicalco is a UNESCO World Heritage Site containing pre-Hispanic ruins.

Cuernavaca´s meetings infrastructure includes a convention center, 61 meeting hotels and 2,009 rooms and suites. The WTC Morelos Convention Center has 27,734 square feet of events space, divisible into 12 separate sections that can be used for meetings, conventions, expositions, conferences, trade shows and seminars. The venue’s biggest space can host up to 2,142 persons auditorium style, and up to 3,000 guests in a catering.

The Holliday Inn Cuernavaca can serve as an ideal venue to hold meetings and corporate events. The hotel’s attractive gardens, pool, well-equipped business center, restaurant and bars are a great compliment to its meeting facilities, which include room for up to 1,720 participants and 28,237 square feet of event space.

The city’s airport, the General Mariano Matamoros Airport (CVJ), has national flights to and from Oaxaca and Tijuana. Bus companies servicing Cuernavaca from Mexico City (such as Pullman de Morelos and Estrella Roja) leave frequently from the southern bus station Taxqueña, as well as from the airport.
