This Magical Village is flanked on all sides by the hills of Tepoztlán – Tlahuiltepetl, Chalchilteptl and Tepuztécatl – which are perfect for hiking enthusiasts to explore.
Of all the hills towering above the town, the Tepozteco pyramid – perched on a hill 2,000 feet above the level of the town – is the most popular with tourists. A winding footpath climbs up in-between huge rocks and cliff faces; the challenge creates a great sense of solidarity among those making the ascent.
The archeological site of El Tepozteco is at the top of the hill, where a pyramid known as the Casa del Tepozteco overlooks the town. The area also includes a national park of the same name, a natural reserve which is home to several species of flora and fauna.
