Although Chilpancingo is a small destination, here you can get to know the region's flora and fauna at the Zoológico Zoochilpan, which is a living museum.

This zoo features exhibits of local species such as the puma, jaguar and gila monster, which is a venomous lizard, as well as exotic animals like the gnu or African antelope, and oryx, Watusi cattle and the howler monkey, whose vocal cords are so powerful that their screams can be heard over 2 miles away. The zoo also has an aquarium, a reptile house and temporary art exhibitions.

There is also the Tehuacalco archeological site that offers four tours: Pre-Hispanic monuments, Petroglyphs, Ritual Landscapes and Wildlife.
