Come and see these ancient geological formations through which underground rivers flow and crystal clear pools have been hidden for millions of years in the depths of the jungle in southeastern Mexico. The Mayan culture flourished due to the existence of the “cenotes” (sinkholes) which were their main source for obtaining water, and the sacred places where they worshiped nature. They also believed that they were the entrance to Xibalba or the “underworld” where the gods of rain rested, and therefore were considered holy places.
Xenotes Maya Oasis is an experience that will show you the different types of cenotes in a natural environment, surrounded by the jungle, where you will be able to experience a different adventure every time. Have fun in a kayak, go rappelling, snorkeling or slide down a zip line and inflated tires while you learn about legends such as the legend of the Alux, the legendary guardian of the jungle. The alux are small beings that guard each cenote and visitors must ask for their permission before entering their domains.

What you cannot miss
Learn about the four types of cenotes, whose names are associated with the elements of nature: In K’áak (Fire Cenote) you will be able to paddle with the current while you watch the exotic flora, a unique experience to share with friends, your partner or your family. In Lu’um (Earth Cenote) you must overcome your fear and rappel on rock formations giving life to this cenote. Feel free and enjoy the Iik’ (Wind Cenote) where you will only hear the sound of your breathing when you go from one end to the other on a zip line, while you listen to the sounds of the jungle at your feet. In Ha’ (Water Cenote) you can go deep inside the water of the cenote and coexist with the species that live there. Admire everything that surrounds you and enjoy the tour without having to be an experienced diver. If you love history, culture, nature and adventure activities, this experience will mark you for life.
