Michoacan was one of the first states created by New Spain. At its origins it was inhabited mainly by the Aztec’s dominant opponents, the Purepecha people whose art, crafts and cuisine is still visible in this beautiful state.
Today, Michoacan is one of the country´s biggest agricultural producers. With vast forests that are the winter home to the Monarch butterflies that arrive here from Canada each fall, majestic rivers and lakes that provide the central part of the state with fresh fish, there´s lots to see and experience in Michoacan.
Lovely weather and charming colonial heritage makes Michoacan´s capital city, Morelia, a great location for any event. The nearby gem of a colonial town, Patzcuaro set on the Lake with the same name is a must to visit and perfect activity for pre or post-event.
The Convention and Exposition Center of Morelia has nine event spaces that can hold up to 1,600 persons and 93,346 square feet of exposition space. The Hotel Fiesta Inn is inside this venue and has 253 guestrooms. Also in Morelia, the Events and Conventions Cantabria has five meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 1,139 persons, and the Real Events and Conventions Center has 4,472 feet of event space that can accommodate up to 500 persons.
